SATCOM communication GmbH was founded in 1993 by Thomas Becke. In addition to the main headquarters in Dreieich near Frankfurt/Main, SATCOM has subsidiaries in Berlin and Dresden. Right from the start SATCOM’s main business focus has been on satellite communication. In 1991 in a joint venture with Deutsche Bundespost the first private SNG was launched on the market in Germany. The collaboration with Deutsche Bundespost ended in 1993 when Thomas Becke took over the Bundespost shares and began developing new SNG vehicles for his company’s own use. His goal has always been to further develop satellite communication in the area of broadcasting services. And as a result of this dedication, in 1996 SATCOM was one of the first companies to offer digital satellite broadcasting technology.
In order to realise new ideas and innovations, SATCOM promotes the careers of young people. Alongside training programs for media designers in images and sound, in collaboration with institutes of higher education SATCOM helps talented young students to study engineering. Therefore, the majority of the employees at SATCOM have received such top-notch training and are capable of independently carrying out productions and other projects on their own. This guarantees a high level of technical and practice-oriented specialist knowledge in the core field of activity of SATCOM GmbH.
